In 2015, after years of slowly changing what I ate and drank, I was stunned to realize I had lost nearly 150 pounds. You read that correctly. I rarely stepped on a scale or exercised during that time. My focus was purely on what, when and how I was consuming food.</p>
After that, my mindset really changed. I wasn’t destined to live in an overweight body. I could change it. I HAD changed it. Now, I consciously and proactively live my journey toward a healthier self. I want to reduce my prescription drugs, and hopefully jump off the diabetes train. I need to be more active, and actually TRY to lose pounds. How many, you ask? My goal is another 100 lbs, but I like to think in terms of “this month” and the next “5 lbs.”

It won’t be easy or quick. I’ve been overweight, or chubby, or fluffy, or whatever euphemism you prefer to use, all my life. When I get overwhelmed, I will falter. I will choose to eat that triple chocolate ice cream, or my favorite bleu cheese bacon burger, or even the dreaded french fry. (Let’s be honest, here. It will be french FRIES. Who eats a single fry?)

They say sharing the experience is helpful. It’s true. Now, I want to help others. Inspire others. Share frustrations and celebrate victories. Won’t you come along?
